Ashes to Dust - Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, Philip Roughton The prologue was intense and really grabbed my attention; then the action just petered out. I felt absolutely no connection to Thora (and thought she overstepped her lawyerly bounds) and Markus was too one dimensional to be interesting. In fact, except for the final reveal, I figured it all out way ahead of the characters. I'm assuming this was intentional, I just can't figure out why since it made for a very slow read.

And speaking of the final reveal, it seemed forced as if the author hit her page(word) count and hurried things up. It also seemed like Markus was lying - just covering up for his son's misdeeds. Not a believable ending at all.

I highly doubt that I would read another book by this author though I did find the details of Iceland fascinating.
