Voices - Arnaldur Indriðason, Bernard Scudder I don't know if it's just that the translation is terrible or if the original was just as awful. The writing is stilted and the story doesn't flow smoothly. There's a lot of "he" but it takes paragraphs before "he" is defined. It makes it tough to read and try to figure out what is going on and who is actually doing what. Though I did like the mystery itself. A man who worked at a hotel for 20 years was murdered in the hotel yet no one knew him at all; not his past nor his present circumstances. I only picked this up because I needed to read a book with a suitcase on the cover and this is the only book that was on the list that looked even remotely interesting. Too bad it was lacking.
