Neo-mage Thorn St. Croix has been hiding in a human city for ten years before she is outed by a seraph. Thaddeus Bartholomew, a tri-breed, part-mage, -seraph, -human (kylen) who is forbidden as a lover for neo-mages...something about their offspring. And human Eli Walker. 3-An incubus is attacking her in her sleep, powerful enough to break her wards. Why now? 4- Seraphs are trapped underground by the Darkness and being tortured. Once again, Thorn must go into the Trine and rescue them. 5- Let's not forget the demon spawn who all of a sudden are attacking Thorn and the town. 6- And of course we cannot forget Forcas, the Major Darkness who's trying to kidnap her and drag her underground...something about her blood. 7- The priestess Lolo whom Thorn always thought was on her side and now believes that Lolo has ulterior motives.I enjoyed Bloodring but this book is way too religious for my tastes. It's God this, the High Host that, scripture left and right, and over-zealous religious leaders. It's way abstract and ambiguous and I keep losing focus as to what is really going on. I have to read the conclusion to hopefully tie up all the loose ends and explain a whole lot of stuff which I don't understand.
