I really loved Diana Groe first two novels [b:Maidensong|1613229|Maidensong (Songs of the North, #1)|Diana Groe|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1360380445s/1613229.jpg|1607022] and [b:Erinsong|1613227|Erinsong (Songs of the North, #2)|Diana Groe|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1322216441s/1613227.jpg|1607020] but this one just wasn't of the same caliber. The dialogue was stilted, the romance was forced, the pace was just too slow and the whole harem thing is just not to my liking. I found the political intrigue too darn confusing. I couldn't figure out who were the good guys and who were the bad. I found that I just didn't care about the ending though I forced myself to suffer through the whole thing.
