Toehold
I liked the first couple of chapter and really thought this was going to be a winner. Alas it was not to be. The heroine, Mel, who started out funny and normal quickly morphed into a whack-a-doo. She's bold, brassy, sarcastic, brash, argumentative and defensive - not really likable character traits for a heroine. And God help me when the Hollywood producer showed up, she totally lost her mind. This book rapidly descended into a bitch-fest between Buddy, Cody, Summer Joe and Mel. And went from funny to very annoying in seconds. The final 3/4 of the book was torturous to read.Don't get me wrong, I love Alaska and the quirkiness of the residents but this went beyond quirky to just plan nuts for no reason.
