From their exile in Australia, Laurence and Temeraire accept a commission to roost Napolean's dragons from Brazil which will reinstate them to their previous positions. A rather boring story all together. A voyage by dragon transport where the three dragons (Temeraire, Iskierka and Kulingile) bickered and fought the whole way. Rescued by the French and imprisoned, then released on a deserted island only to find a way to the Incan coast of South America and continue their mission. Only in the last 30 pages did the rest of the formation arrive in Rio - Maximus, Lily, Harcourt, Messoria, Dulcia and Nitidus. Then it finally got exciting and interesting and left off with plans to sail to China instead of England. Hopefully the next book will be better than this one.I was rather disappointed in this installment of the Temeraire series. This reads like it's a translation though the author is American. I don't remember the other books being like this. Maybe it's just poor editing but this is a successful author so someone should be checking this stuff.
