Unfortunately, neither the hero nor the heroine were likable characters. Whitney is shallow and vain and gave off that Paris Hiltonesque vibe - more money than brains. Douglas was worse - being immature and narcissistic. Like I said, absolutely nothing to like about either one of them which made an entertaining story not so entertaining.
The "fight" scenes were hooky and it amazed me that these idiots could outmaneuver the pros chasing them. The ending was the best part of the book but even that was over the top and slightly ridiculous. I had a real problem with the supposed chemistry between the h/h....there wasn't any. He had nothing but contempt for her sort and she was just looking for something to alleviate the boredom of being rich. However I will admit that the descriptions of Madagascar (a place I've never been) were interesting and it seems like a beautiful, if poor, place.
